Who we are

A Ministry of Evangelism and Pastoral Care

Baja Clean Water Mission is first and foremost a Christian ministry. We partner with local pastors and congregations throughout Baja California to support evangelism, disciple new believers, and shepherd communities in the faith. Our work is rooted in the conviction that the gospel transforms lives — and that practical acts of service open hearts to that message.

Evangelism

Sharing the gospel with families and communities who have not yet heard.

Pastoral Shepherding

Supporting local pastors and strengthening existing congregations in the faith.

Community Service

Meeting practical needs as a tangible expression of Christ's love.

Clean Water as a Ministry Tool

Biosand Water Filters (BSF) are one of the practical tools we use to open doors for the gospel. When a family receives a filter, it creates an opportunity to begin a relationship — one built on trust, care, and ongoing connection. That relationship can create opportunities to share the hope of Christ and, where appropriate, connect families with the life of a local church.

“A filter is not the mission. It is the door.”

How it works

Proven Filtration Technology

Biosand Water Filters use a slow-sand biological filtration process developed and validated by international public health researchers. Each filter is built to exacting standards and tested before delivery.

Up to 100%

Helminth removal

Documented performance varies by operating conditions and source water.

Up to 98.5%

Bacterial reduction

Laboratory results; field performance varies with operating conditions.

7 days

Concrete curing period

Each concrete filter undergoes a full 7-day wet-curing process before delivery. The biological layer develops later through regular household use.

Quality Control Process

1

Sand sifting

All sand is mechanically screened to precise grain-size specifications for optimal filtration.

2

Flow rate testing

Each filter is tested to confirm water flows at the correct rate — too fast or too slow reduces effectiveness.

3

7-day concrete curing

Filters undergo a full 7-day wet-curing process to achieve full tensile strength before delivery.

Family with clean drinking water

Why Clean Water Matters

Unsafe drinking water can expose families to microorganisms and other contaminants associated with waterborne disease. Household water treatment can reduce exposure to many of these contaminants and is one part of a broader approach to safer drinking water.
